Kian Capital Partners, a lower-middle-market-focused private investment firm, is proud to announce the promotion of Jordan Lee to Partner and David Hare to Principal, respectively. The promotions were made effective January 1, 2024.
Jordan joined the Kian team in 2022 and has over a decade of experience working with middle-market companies to develop tailored strategies to drive organic and inorganic growth. Prior to Kian, he was a Managing Director at Starr Investment Holdings. In Jordan’s new position, he will continue to work to help drive the firm forward while deploying the firm’s third fund, KGP III, and remain involved in all aspects of Kian’s investment, origination, structuring, diligence and portfolio monitoring and management efforts.
When asked what differentiates Kian from other firms, Jordan said, “The partnership-oriented approach to everything we do is unique. We’re transparent in all of our communications and always strive to do what we say we are going to do, which fosters an environment where everyone, regardless of title, feels comfortable sharing and taking responsibility. I believe this deep-rooted culture of a partnership approach leads to outsized contributions, and I am truly proud to be a part of the Kian team.”
“Jordan’s impact on the firm in such a short time speaks volumes of his work ethic and character,” said Kian Co-Founder and Managing Partner Rick Cravey. “His unwavering commitment to developing true partnerships with our portfolio companies and fostering our team’s growth and success has earned Jordan this well-deserved promotion. I look forward to working alongside him in the years to come.”
David joined Kian in January of 2018 as an Associate and has since been promoted twice. Before joining Kian, David was an Analyst in the investment banking group at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt financings and equity issuances for public and private companies in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group. In his new capacity as Principal, he will continue to source, execute and manage new investments, as well as mentor Kian’s more junior professionals.
“Over the past five years, we have successfully maintained our culture while nearly doubling our size — a testament to the tone that our leadership sets forth and the responsibility felt by each team member. The focus on building partnerships and fostering opportunities are not just words on a page; we all have a common, collective goal of shared success for our stakeholders,” said David.
“David has been a key member of our team since 2018, and we are proud to recognize his hard work and commitment to not only our portfolio companies but to the core tenets and culture of the firm,” said Kian Co-Founder and Managing Partner Kevin McCarthy. “David and Jordan’s promotions are reflections of their personal achievements and are exciting milestones as we continue to shape Kian’s future. In 2023, we also added Jimbo Izlar as Vice President and Luke Cromwell as Associate, deepening the bench further for a transformative 2024 and beyond.”
